So That I Could

There have been times in my life

When I wondered, about this and that,...why

Yes, I wondered about every incident

That ever made me cry.

I wondered why people got quiet

When I prepared to answer a

Question that I was asked-

Y'all, I have wondered about so many things

And now, I find myself wondering about

A virus called Covid-19-

That seems to be my lastest wondering task.

This thing that started in someplace called Wuhan

Is walking the globe and culling out

Both the aged man and the aged woman

Then this thing seems to be able

To mutate and change once it gets within the body

And inflict damage to the second and third-degree.

And as far as not affecting children

It seems that it takes it a while longer

To affect the young, but it has been

Around long enough now that

Our children are beginning to fall.

Well, just like I am driven

To try to alleviate your fears

By reminding you to dry your eyes

And to tell you that GOD hears your cries

I can say that I don't know what this

Virus is intended to do

But I want to remind you all about

The GOD WHO extends HIS hand to you.

Y'all, listen to these words harder than any

Any words I have ever said

GOD won't let this virus take us all

So, that means, on HIS name, this

Virus reminds us to call!

Just like HE sent the frog plague of Ancient

Egypt into the Nile River one day

HE can speak, and this virus will go away.

But, listen to me everyone

Things are happening worldwide

That simply ought not to be done

-That means harboring hatred to the degree

That you see a skin color instead of a part of humanity

-Selling children in the sex trade to make a dollar

-Manufacturing illicit drugs for ill-gotten gain

-Being hateful to somebody that you meet

In a store, just because you can-

Y'all know the kinds of things I mean...

So, let's stop the vices and allow to start

The growth of the love of GOD in our hearts.

That means that we have to turn to HIM in prayer

Because HE will eradicate this virus from our land

When we turn to HIM, humble ourselves, and

Develop a love for our fellowman.

Just saw on the news that there are

10 new hotspots in the U.S. today

And one of those hotspots is in Tennessee

That is the state that happens to be home to me.

Well, no matter, because, as I said before

Covid-19 and nothing else can take us out

Until GOD HIMSELF says so,

Of that, there is no doubt.

So, I'm still raising my voice

And asking you, Tennesseeans

To let the world know that

We have faith and serve GOD by choice.

Remember this; electricity did not take

Me out at the age of eight-

The train did not take me at the age of 25-

And after Covid-19 has been reigned in

Unless GOD says otherwise

This battle-scarred soldier will still be alive!

And I am going to keep telling my story

About the GOD that I serve and

HIS wonder-working glory!

Keep prayer going, Y'all and know

That when the virus has accomplished its purpose

From our shores, it will go.

I am just a little nobody

Who hails from Tennessee

But nobody, but nobody, can keep me

From telling about GOD's love

The world around, because HE has

Held my hand every time my back was against the wall-

All I had to do was remember, on HIM, to call!

GOD kept me around so that I could give you one more encouraging blog, and another, and... Be safe, and don't forget to pray (everybody, even the toddler.) You might as well start training them now. I mean, if he/she can use a smartphone, then they can be taught to pray. I mean, think about it...which skill is more important in this life? Exactly!
