Skinned Knees

As down the road, I go

Lessons are remembered and used

That were taught so long ago.©

Skinned Knees

Momma, I skinned my knees again from

Being tossed to the ground

But just like I did as a child, I found

Solace in the arms of your words, Momma, which

Have proven to be so profound.

Because you taught me to read my Bible, I

Go there time and time again

And receive solace aplenty when

The words of the Lord wrap around

Me, weary and worn though I am

But when I pick the fruit of Psalms

Sweet peace is what I seize

And I find that I can continue on

In spite of my skinned knees.

Be safe.
