And the Beat Goes On

Just Keep Stepping

Just like the little drummer boy marching and marching, just like the bunny that beats his drum, so goes a Christian's walk for Christ. We have to be recharged from time to time or rewound periodically, but we keep stepping on in our walk for the kingdom.

I told you several blogs back about the need to refuel so as to keep our tanks of "faith" full. This is the same principle here, just a new play on words. We have to remember to stop by the church house on Sundays and during the week for mid-week prayer service or Bible class.

Anyhow

I remember when I was a little girl and we had just gotten a new windup toy that the incessant movement of the toy fascinated us. And we would go into peals of laughter and shouts of glee when that windup toy would walk into the wall and keep stepping in place. We would turn it around and wait for it to walk into some else. But that toy was just an automaton with no feelings. It did not hurt it to keep repeatedly stepping into a wall.

We, as Christians, keep bumping our heads against the wall of resistance that the world has put up, but we don't stop trying. Why? Just like the toys that are mentioned above, brought joy to children, we bring the joy of our Savior's love to a world that is busy, busy, busy.

Hold Up; Wait a Minute

In this busy rat race of life, we must not forget that one day there will be no more stopping by the church house for recharging or rewinding. One of those Sundays or Wednesdays will be our last. One day we will cease to march to the tune of this world. One of these days we will be called from labor to reward. For some, the reward will be the gift of eternal life with the Lord and for others, the reward will be eternal life in torment.

Never Too Busy

Busy, busy, busy, busy doing what is the question. We must not forget that while we are being so busy with the affairs of this life that our bodies are busy dying. We must remember that we are making preparations for an appointment that we all will keep in the afterlife.

So, I will keep butting my head against the wall

And I will keep telling mankind about the gospel's call

Because one day we all

Are going to stand in line in God's judgment hall

And each one of us wants to hear, "Well done"

When the books are opened and our name is called

BOOM! BOOM! BOOMPETY -boom, BOOM!

********

Yes, you see me marching in the Christian line

Uhn hmmm, and when my name is called

Over yonder, I'm gonna be just fine

Because the joys of glory will, at last, be mine.

Doing What I Can, While I Can Because I Care,
