Go with GOD

Wherever your footsteps have trod
It is good to know that you have and do
Go with GOD.©

Proverbs 20:12 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye,
The Lord has made both of them.

Every time I did, I got caught

So, I soon learned to do naught

But the things that I ought.

I learned as a child that it was best for me to do as my Momma said because it seemed that she always found out about my misdeeds. I don't know, Y'all, but it was like she had a hidden inner spyglass where I was concerned. So, when I read Proverbs 20, verse 12, I recalled some times as a child and as a teenager that some of my associates might want to get up to some mischief, like the time that I let a student look at the answers on my paper, for which we both got "F's." I remember telling myself, "Alma, you knew better; you knew that, though you rationalized away your guilt about sharing the answers, you knew it was wrong and that you would get caught. And you did; bet you won't do that again." And I didn't, and when anybody else would ask me to, I would tell them, "Uhn, uhn, not me because every time I do something that I ought not to, I get caught! Nope, not me!"

So, as an adult striving to live for the LORD, I govern myself accordingly. And yes, indeed, I am thankful for forgiveness because without it I would be undone. "How so?" you ask. Easy, do you always think the right thing? Of course, you don't, and neither do I. I mean when someone does something to me that is just downright mean, it makes me hot under the collar and I want to flap my jaws like a bell clapper and set them straight, but I don't.

What am I saying? I'm saying that in all you do

Remember that ALMIGHTY GOD is looking at you.

You know what GOD is really saying

"I know you through and through, so I

Know the plans that you are laying

Just so that you understand

You can do nothing without my knowledge

Because, after all, you are just a man."

Yes, there have been times in my life

When there were things I could have done if I would

But having learned, in life, early on

"Do it if you want to, Alma, but

It will be made known."

And that has always been enough to

Keep me walking on the right path

Because I knew that all that I

Thought and did was known by GOD

So, I paid particular attention to the path that I trod

After all, who wants to court the wrath of GOD?

Not me

Which by this poem

You can see!©
